The conundrum of American presidential politics in 2016 is that the candidacy of Hilary Clinton renders the possible election of Donald Trump, however distasteful, marginally palatable, and the candidacy of Donald Trump renders the possible election of Hilary Clinton, however distasteful, marginally palatable.  God looks out for drunks, little children and the United States of America.
